Ihu Special Economic Zone Project Management Office is delighted that one of its interns has been recruited by Ok Tedi Minning Limited
Ihu SEZ is about creating jobs, providing training and building our economy. ISEZ Internship program has now seen one of our staff successfully joins OTML as a geologist for the Mine.
Jackson Hopulaiwhi is from East Kikori in Gulf Province who undertook Geology at UPNG in 2019 and completed his studies in 2022.
Mr. Hopulaiwhi was recruited by ISEZ after he graduated in 2023. During his time with ISEZ, he has been guided and trained by senior experienced staff members throughout a yearlong journey with the project office.
ISEZ Managing Director Peter Kengemar says he is proud of Mr. Hopulaiwhi and wishes him all the best in his next journey.
"ISEZDCL has done its bit by recruiting a young, energetic Kikori son, and our management office staff members have contributed to moulding and shaping him into a professional in a proper work environment. I thank each and every employee who worked and trained him. I am proud of his efforts and contributions to ISEZ, KDDA, Gulf, and SEZ Program of PNG Government via ISEZ project development office."
Mr Kengemar further stated that being a geologist himself, he is very happy that Mr. Hopulaiwhi is joining Ok Tedi.
ISEZ being a project located in Gulf Province, the project office has always been Gulf first for employment. In saying that, ISEZ is happy to see a local boy being recruited by one of the biggest Mines in PNG.
